Celebrating Barbara Goldman: A Legacy of Leadership and Impact at TEAMability

For more than two decades, Barbara Goldman has been the driving force behind TEAMability, leading with vision, compassion, and a deep belief in the abilities of children with complex disabilities. As she steps into retirement after 22 years of extraordinary leadership, we at M. Leslie Palmer Consulting Group are honored to reflect on the privilege of working alongside her and her team.

Barbara’s leadership transformed TEAMability from a small grassroots effort serving rural school districts into one of San Antonio’s most impactful nonprofits for those with complex disabilities.

Under her guidance, the organization grew to serve more than 140 clients, expanded its staff to nearly 30, and became the therapy anchor for Morgan’s Multi-Assistance Center.

We are proud to have partnered with Barbara in advancing TEAMability’s mission by:

  • Developing strategic and succession plans to guide TEAMability into its next stage.
  • Creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support long-term sustainability.
  • Strengthening the board’s capacity through tailored planning, training and communications.
  • Amplifying TEAMability’s story through public relations, newsletter and email communications, and social media strategy.

Barbara’s vision and willingness to innovate made these initiatives not only possible but successful. Together, we created structures that will continue to serve TEAMability well into its next chapter.

As Barbara takes on the role of CEO Emerita and Board Member, we celebrate not just her retirement but also the lasting systems, culture, and impact she leaves behind. We also welcome TEAMability’s new leadership team, led by CEO Brooke Kearney, knowing that Barbara’s legacy has built a strong foundation for the organization’s continued growth.

Collaborating with Barbara has been a privilege, and we are deeply proud to have contributed to TEAMability’s journey. Please join us in celebrating her remarkable career and the possibilities that lie ahead for the organization she built with such dedication.
